Cheers Andrew, I called Steve (Rising Sun) yesterday and he said they had a LOT of trouble getting it to fit. They had to resort to cutting the front engine bay radiator support bar to get it to fit, then put a radiator just behind the front grill. He told me that in SA they are in no way legal either.

I went to measure this engine and compare it to the EA82 and the EZ30 was only 8mm longer and 13mm wider than the EA82! I believe the EZ30 is a fair bit smaller than the older EG33 that he used too.

Ive since decided to can that idea....as it is making a lot more sense to get a half cut that I can utilise more spare parts from ie half cut 2.5L Liberty/Outback. Plus the EZ30 was an auto that would have needed a replacement flywheel & starter motor to bring it to manual spec....

Nahhhh my EJ25 is looking better now....hehe

if you end up getting a ej25 id suggest you get a sohc engine not a quadcam one....ive seen alot of engines and the sohc engine seem a lot better...get one from a forester would be the go..at some stage when i get around to a convertion on mine ill be looking for a forester motor.....thats just my opinion but hey im sure someone else will tell ya different....ive been a mechanic for 17yrs and ive seen alot of subaru stuff....the quadcam engines seem to have alot of cyl head problems (ie leaking oil and coolant..can get costly if something goes wrong)....you will pay more for a forester 2.5 but...

yeah they do some are quadcam but as well...i reckon your chances of getting a lower km motor would be better with a forester thats all...but yes outback is an option as well...

Unfortunately the website in there has been removed, but get this... it was all about some guy's L series wagon and he'd put a H6 Boxer into it.

Ive just looked over his site and man...you're not wrong...this guy was OUT THERE....hehe 'Bit strange' is an understatement....he almost comes across as a born again religious fanatic....

But he is definately a Subi nut like all of us....which is good...
I like his choice in colour.... <wink>
When Ive finished my rebuild my car will look similar....if not better?

Ben is an unknown quantity at this point
I second what Seagull has to say. The H6 isn't the torque monster it should be.... Has hell grunt up top though....

And ask anyone who heard it on the sunday morning after the BBQ last year, with no muffling the thing sounds friggin awesome!!!!

Pity wifey wants me to keep it quiet, as it is most certainly porschesque in it's note.

Does this car still exist? The thread was nearly 4 years ago.
