Oh.. that looks like you've gone from 1 extreme to the other.. thats a 45 single barrel isn't it? I would have thought you'd use a 2 barrel 42/42

yep that's a vintage 45 single barrel Weber I found on the net looking very much like a stromberg for a 202

not sure of the butterfly measurements of the Weber but it is off and XE falcon and has been rebuilt recently note the little tag, unlike the car it came off which was unbolted cut into little bits and either sold or scrapped

these photos were taken at 9 am this morning before it was cleaned and mated to the adapter plate

the carby is now on the motor and all I need to do is make a linkage so the accelerator works for a carby that came off a 4.1 ford motor Ive not had to change a thing it revs like a mad axeman on a rampage I just hope it does the same thing under load ,not sure how I will put an air cleaner on as the carby is now way taller that the Holley ever was

the distributor is fine it was filthy inside (my fault) contact cleaner took care of that I even put heat shrink over the connectors to ensure they are not arcing out on each other I ended up setting the timing at 15 degrees BTDC because at 20 it had heaps of power but pinged (pinked) its head off

will finalize the linkages, work out the wiring for the electric choke ANY HELP HERE FROM SOMEONE WITH A WEBER ON THEIR CAR WOULD BE A BOON
and then post some pictures and video

(only 3 hours to make it fit and run really well I'm very happy just hope it stays that way )

HAHAHAHA... Funny guy

That Weber off the 4.1 should be a 32/36 but not 100% sure. Looks in good nick and that tag is the factor ID tag from new. I'd prefer to make a new (like your manifold you have now) but with that Redline adaptor plate and maybe a lower intake tube model manifold.

As for that auto choke.. just find that EA81 manifold wiring that is lying just under your carby, find the 3 pin plug, find the blue wire (just check with your test light) and this should have 12+ve only when the engine is cranking/running, join this to the single bullet connector on the auto choke

Let me know how it turns out

I would if I didn't have 3 kiddies to look after

I know exactly where it was left as I hooked up the weber idle solenoid next to it

Get them to do it! I'm sure they know what blue looks like That's why mum and dad had kids apparently - legal slave labour...

That carbie looks like it was meant to be there! Have you ever seen an air filter/intake setup from a twin carb VW station wagon mk2 or mk3? That sort of idea could be the go if you've got any space between the bonnet and carbie - its basically like a flattened piece of pipe that directs air from an air filter where there's room to have one to the carbie that's in a tight spot... Maybe that'll work for you.

What ever you do don't be cutting a letter box into the bonnet - where's the fun in telling everyone that you've go something different under the bonnet?

Cheers

Bennie
