Update on my Brumby

after seeing PhantomD's brumby I thought I would post an update on my old girl while she has 10 times mor KM on her clock

Im very proud of her

this how she looked just after I got her



this is with the lift kit and 13" rims, I had to go to Perth and as it is holiday time I put the 13" on so I didn't get a yellow sticker (defect notice) as my 215'/65/14r tyres are way outside the guards



and this is how she looks with the 215'/65/14r tyres on I scored the lift kit rims and tyres for 250 dollars I then bought a spare rim and 2 second hand tyres fitted for 80 dollars I also got 2 bogless and rustless guards from a mate in Perth for free hence the different colour white



now all I have to do is modify the front mount for the bash plate so I can put that back on



one day I will get around to finishing the motor mods but for now she runs great ( when I have a money tree )

PJ is now running an EJ22 with a Weber 34 ADM and Power steering

Haha I hoped this would happen! This car is obviously well loved and cared for from the pictures you have posted here.

The tray looks very clean on yours (mine is a bit agricultural), what condition is the tailgate in? What mods are you doing to the motor?

they tray has bog in it as does the tailgate , I have another but Im low on funds so I can't even paint it at the moment to put it on

as for the motor eventually an EJ22 but Im in the process of modding an EJ16 to accept a holley 320 carby and a dizzy all of which I hope to bolt onto the EJ22 when the money tree grows

Any progress on the carbed EJ? Are you modifying an EFI manifold or making a new one?

My dreams to date

well I would dearly love just to pull out an ally welder (don't have one) and fabricate a manifold from scratch

otherwise a downdraught webber on an adaptor plate bolted onto the efi manifold and the injector holes plugged is another option (anyone got a downdraught webber they want to give away?)

my other dream is to mount a 320 holley(was give a working one one for free ) on a purpose built manifold (see first option)

Ive found several electronic dizzys at the local wreckers with cam mounts, it is looking like a toyota based one will be the best fit with an adaptor plate, failing that Ive got a fiori dizzy that needs a rotor button and cap that I can shove a electronic dizzy kit into (have kit need time to put in the dizzy) and mate it to an adaptor and away she will go (hopefully)

I still need to balance the new tyres but Im unemployed at this point as school has finished (thank the gods) (if I go back to teaching I will need to be paid way more to put up with the rubbish kids put out these days)

so sadly paying the rent and bills are more important than the project

anyone need a T.A. or a service man in WA (Im ready to start yesterday)

is that lift kit a 2inch or a 3inch? i wanted to put a lift in my car and leave the 13inch rims on. but after seeing ur brumby with the 13's on, it looks a little bit weird (the tyres dont fill the guards) so i might give it a miss untill i can get bigger wheels and tyres. nice score on the lift kit and wheels/tyres too. i could see why you would want more money to be a teacher. i was thinking about the hell some of my teachers went through and i would never be able to put up with it. you must have a lot of patience hahaha

It is a 2 inch kit and yes it does look funny with 13 inch rims on it

yesterday in my wanderings I found a ford meteor dizzy that will just about bolt directly to an EJ head so thats one less hassle to deal with on the motor

I did have alot of patience but Ive just about used it all up in the last 6 months of teaching

to the point where Im looking at working anywhere but as a teacher

If you want to go 13inch rims just go a bigger tyre.

i have 13inch rims and 185/80/r13 fills the gaurd nicely with a 3inch lift
