Vortex radio removal steps wanted

I have no idea where to even start with the removal of a factory Vortex radio/tape deck.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Anyone got step by step instructions??

I may have to pull one off site as a favour for someone

How does mine has a big hole where the stereo should be sound. I know the clock has pressure clips holding it in so I would asssume the stereo does as well.

I know as well there are 4 screws holding the facia around the stereo in but of course 2 are under the clock and 2 are under the stereo. then there are the spring clips which hold the rest of the facia in place. (mine is and was glued into place in pieces )

so really Im not much help unless you look at section 4-5 pdf 5-4 of the vortex manual here

The manual should cover it. Be careful, because the plastic fascia has a tendency to shatter into millions of pieces ...

Ok after some more light reading you remove the clock first.

Section 6 Section 6-2, Body Elec Sys 44

Fascia is already shot above the pics details, just noticed it does not completely surround radio as radio fascia wraps around the corner. Those manuals are not light reading are they ?

On the clock plate the square on the
right hand side comes out and there is
a Phillips screw beneath, remove that
and carefully pull the whole
clock out.

When that is removed there are 2 more
screws going down into the radio cage
that holds it into the dash. Remove
them and slide out the unit.

I have a direct plug in loom for the stereo
to pioneer stereo. You can cut it and solder
any other type you like.

You will need a super low profile screw driver
or a bit and small ratchet spanner would
be ideal

Hope this helps

cheers

Yep, thanks, shedding more light on things. Found nothing in the manual other than remove clock first by undoing wire plugs further back in drivers footwell and almost starting to sound Gregoryish easy instruction - clouding the mind.

Hogswash lol! The connector is on a 150mm of wire on the
back of the clock! - what a red, small, obscure fish consumed largely in England!
